The recent renovation of Baan Hanibah was done in 2007. Although it has been elevated about 80 centimetres higher from the ground level to dealing with the annual flood during the rainy season, it was ensured that the structure and the shape of the house were preserved. Baan Hanibah now consists of the front porch, a main hall, 10 new bedrooms, a dining room, a living room, and a library.

ตัวบ้านได้รับการปรับปรุงหลายครั้ง จนกระทั่งในปี ๒๕๕๐ ทายาทได้ทำการปรับปรุงอีกครั้งหนึ่ง โดยยกตัวบ้านให้สูงขึ้นจากเดิม ๘๐ เซนติเมตร เพื่อป้องกันปัญหาน้ำท่วมขังในฤดูฝน  รวมทั้งจัดแบ่งการใช้สอยภายในใหม่ ประกอบด้วยห้องนอนจำนวน ๑๐ ห้อง ห้องน้ำ ๙ ห้อง ห้องรับแขก ห้องอาหาร ห้องพักผ่อน ห้องอ่านหนังสือ  สำหรับโครงสร้างและสภาพภายนอก ได้รักษาให้อยู่ในรูปแบบใกล้เคียงกับเมื่อแรกสร้าง เช่นเดียวกับรั้วบ้านยังคงไว้ในรูปแบบเดิม คือก่อด้วยฐานศิลาแลงจากจังหวัดลำพูน และเขียงไม้สักจากจังหวัดแพร่

The name of the house ‘Hanibah’ comes from the northern Thai language. It has no particular meaning, but the Northern people usually say it when they meet an unexpected situation. ‘Hanibah!’ seemed to be a favorite word of the first owner of this house – our ancestor – as he always spoke it out loud. Therefore, in the memorial of our father, we have decided to use this word as the official name of the hostel.

ฮานิบะ เป็นภาษาเหนือ(คำเมือง) ไม่มีคำแปลที่ตรงตัว ชาวเหนือส่วนใหญ่มักติดปากเอ่ย เมื่อรู้สึก ผิดคาด และ ฮานิบะ ก็เป็นคำติดปากของเจ้าของบ้านจากรุ่นสู่รุ่น  เราจึงตัดสินใจใช้คำนี้เป็นชื่อของบ้าน เพื่อเป็นสัญญลักษณ์และเพื่อระลึกถึงเจ้าของบ้านเดิม ซึ่งเป็นบรรพบุรุษของเรา
